How to achieve Success in Public Speaking

Public Speaking is all about how well we can communicate our ideas and views with our audience.Public Speaking is not something that is inherent in us.Public Speaking skills can be developed over a period of time with Practice.

There are certain important points that one needs to keep in mind to become a successful public speaker:

1)Know the place of presentation: Befamiliar with the place where you are going to speak,arrive early and move around to feel comfortable with the place and practice your speech using a microphone.

2)Familiarize yourself with your Audience: Greet your audience as and when they arrive because the more you are familiar with your audience the more comfortable you will feel while giving your speech.

3)Be familiar with your speech: Practice your speech and make yourself comfortable with the subject of speech.Dont read the material for the first time on the day of presentation.

4)Relax: Relax yourself,if you are nervous you may tend to make mistakes and may miss out on important points.

5)Visualize yourself giving the speech,if you visualize yourself being successful,you will be successful.

6)Do not apologize: If due to nervousness you make some mistakes in your speech,do not apologize for the same as you may draw the attention of the sudience towards something that they might not have noticed.So,simply remain silent and move on with your speech.

7)If you are nervous,try to transform your nervousness into positive energy of enthusiasm.

8)Present yur speech with complete enthusiasm,as the audience will be looking forward to an enthusiastic speaker delivering an interesting speech.

9)If you are presenting your speech with visual slides then treat the slides as a supporting medium to explain your speech more clearly.Do not solely depend upon your slides.

10)When you know your audience,also try to find out the background they are coming from.If they are not technically sound and are layman,then avoid using technical words or jargons,else the audience will not understand your speech and hence would not be able to appreciate it.

The above are few tips that you can keep in mind while presenting a public presentation.These tips will definitely help you in becoming a successful public speaker.
