Why do people get Rejected in an Interview

In this article we shall discuss the different reasons that leads to an individual being rejected in an Interview.So,Why do people get rejected in an Interview?

The following could be some of the reasons:

1)Attitude: Many candidates come across as very casual/arrogant.While the interviewer may have an arrogant/casual approach,we as candidates cannot afford to have such an attitude as that leaves a wrong impression about the candidate.So,be professional without having the worng attitude.

2)Appearance: Many candidates do not give importance to their looks.Well,the interviewer makes the first impression about a candidate within 5 minutes of the interview.

3)Lack of Adequate Research: If the candidate does not know about the company where he has applied for an interview,he is bound to be rejected by the interviewer.So,research anout the company,its position in the job market,its profits/turnover etc before you go for the interview.

4)Ask questions to the interviewer about your job profile.Asking intellectual questions will impress the interviewer and will show your interest in the company.

5)Before you go for the interview,rehearse an interview with your friend,spouse etc.If you are unable to give answers to the questions asked by the interviewer,it leaves a negative impression.

6)Do not depend solely upon your resume.A resume can only present the list of experience,your skills etc.It is you who is going to be hired so try to impress the interviewer by a smart presentation of both you and your skills and achievements.Be confident while doing so.

7)If you have made accomplishments then proudly speak about it.This will portray you as a committed and responsible individual.

8)Do not present skills that does not match the profile you have applied for.

9)Speak and negotiate about the salary only when you get the confirmation that you have been selected for a particular profile.Speaking about the salary to the interviewer at an early stage will not leave the right impression.

10)Go for an interview only when you feel that you are seriously looking for a job.Do not attend an interview when you know that you will not join that job.If you are selected in an interview and your pay package is also finalized and then you do not take up that job,it leaves a negative impression.

Therefore,keep the above points in mind before you attend an interview so that you do not get rejected in an interview for any of the above reasons.
