How to deal with the Crisis Time

Hi All,

With the downfall of recruitment in the job market every employee has become more committed towards their jobs. While the good old rules of work, such as high aptitude for learning, innovative mindset and sound functional knowledge never went out of fashion, this is the time to go the extra mile to stick to them.

Here is how we can deal with Crsis Time:

1)Help your organization make more money: At the time when organizations are looking to cut costs, take an active role in helping your employer make more money. Remember that you will also grow with your organization.Everyone should contribute to company’s growth.

2) Help your organization to grow: At the times, during organizational crisis, employees need to support their organization and should “manage their aspirations better”. People who act less as employees and more as leaders stand out from the crowd. At the time of crisis show that you care for the company as you own the responsibility towards your company. Place the companies vision/goals before your personal goals and be gracious about losing benefits.Support your organization in crisis and you will get recognition and appreciation in the long run.

3) Participate in the company’s cost-saving initiatives: Look for ways by which you can play an effective role in cutting the company’s cost. Eg: If you have to travel frequently for business purpose, you may advice the employer for a train ticket instead of a flight ticket. Basically, do anything to prove that you are a good investment for the organization.

4) Know the business of your company and its competition: It will not be sufficient to focus on your own profile, understand your company’s goals as well.Become a resource machine. You should be aware of the company’s competition in the market.

5) Be multi-skilled: Companies are now highly recruiting people with multiple skills.Take advantage of the internal training programme before your supervisor tell you to do so. Employers look for people who bring a mix of skills. This shows that a person is likely to be responsible for his/her growth. In the coming days, in IT Sector especially while hiring of generic skills will reduce considerably, people with multiple skills will remain in demand. The more qualified you are, the more opportunities you can create for yourself.

Therefore, do not “work for the organization”, instead, “work with the organization”. If you support your organization at the time of crisis, you will also enjoy the benefits of the company’s profits in the long run.In this competitive market everyone should contribute to their company’s growth. There is a “path which is beautiful” and a “path which is difficult”. But we must always take the path which is difficult because the difficult path leads us to our destination and the beautiful path is a destination in itself.

Regards,
Kavita
