We have already discussed about stress in our previous artilces.In this article we shall have a look at the various symptoms of stress both phisiologically and psychologically.
- Lack of energy: This is a very common symptom of stress that no matter how hard you try,you do not feel energized.This leads to low motivation.
- Exhaustion: Stress leads to exhausion that is different from the exhausion that one feels after a strenuous physical exercise.Strees mainly leads to mental exhausion and no matter how much you relax or sleep,the exhausion does not go away.
- Abnormal sleeping patterns: Stress leads to disturbed sleep.Either a stressed person sleeps too much or is unable to sleep at all.Recurrent nightmares leads to disturbed sleep.The disturbed sleeping pattern gets normalized when the stress is taken care of.
- Worries: A stressed person will feel worried about the smallest events of life and would not be able to see anything positively.
- Irritability: A stressed person gets irritated at the smallest of things.He/she loses patience and tends to get frustrated and aggressive.
- Isolation: A stressed person tries to keep himself isolated from the social world.He does not want to mingle with the society and keeps himself within his own shell.
- Recurrent headaches: A common symptom of stress is headache which may lead to severe migraine if the stress is not controlled.
- Body pain: A stressed person feels muscle pain,leg cramp,backache etc.This is because,stress hampers a persons health both mentally and physically.But,once the stress is taken care of,the pain vanishes.
- Heartbeat: Stress leads to an increase in the heart beat due to excessive tension.
- Loss of Appetite: A stressed person does not feel like eating anything.He loses his appetite.However,in a minority of cases it is found that a stressed person tends to eat more.Healthy eating has a big role to play is relieving stress.Hence,one should make sure to eat healthy to lead to stress-free life.
The above are some of the symptoms of stress.Once you experience any one of the above symptoms,be sure that you are stressed out.That is the time when you need to make sure to control your stress.
So,control your stress levels as much as possible and live a healthy life.
