Live your Life to the Fullest in Your Own Terms

Hi Everyone ,

We get only one Life with opportunities to live it to the fullest. But it is the common human mindset to be dissatisfied/unhappy with one's own life.We have all heard about the saying "The grass is greener on the other side".We tend to have the feeling that others are living a better life than us and that others are happier than us.It seems as if all the life's problems are concentrated to us.

We therefore tend to spend our entire life hoping and yearning to live someone else's life. Doing so,slowly and subconciously,we tend to develop feelings of jealousy and envy towards the other person's achievements. For instance we may think " I wish I could live a King size life like Mr.X ".The question that arises here is "Why waste time thinking about someone else's life? Why don't we try to make necessary changes in our own life and live every moment to the fullest? " We certainly can aspire to live a better life and we can have an idol to look up to.But,always thinking about other's life is a waste of time.

All these thoughts keep us away from enjoying own our life.Isn't that a very silly thing to do? Doing so we actually become blindfold towards our own happiness. We fail to appreciate our own achievements in life.So the best thing to do is to concentrate into one's own life.Try finding out your own skills, strengths and weaknesses and build a happy and healthy life for yourself. A life that is not wasted upon thinking about someone else's life, success and achievements.

Most of us seem to be very concerned about what others think about us and our life. There may be some whose heart desires to work for a social cause, but they might not take it up thinking that they would not earn enough money there and since people who are rich in terms of money are given more respect in the society, they might just give up this desire of working for a social cause. Now here,we are living our life not in our own terms and wishes. We are living our life by ignoring our own wishes and by giving more priority to others opinion.

As rightly quoted by "Steve Jobs" (Stanford University) :

'Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma--which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become.'

Cheers,
